The WALTER-TITEX 5155161 is a jobber length twist drill bit engineered for demanding metal cutting applications. It measures 17/32 inch (0.5313 inch) in diameter and features a 130-degree drill point angle ground to a standard point geometry with web thinning for reduced thrust force. The flute length runs 108 millimeters with an overall length of 160 millimeters. Constructed from vanadium high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, the 5155161 delivers consistent cutting performance in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a Series A1244 designation and conforms to ANSI and ISO standards as well as BS and DIN specification designations.
The 5155161 is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations common in aerospace, industrial maintenance, and mechanical contracting environments. The two-flute spiral design with a regular helix provides efficient chip evacuation in tough workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.5310 inch diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet systems used across machine shop and field service setups. A maximum drilling depth of 94 millimeters (3.701 inches) covers the majority of jobber-range applications in production and repair work.
Designed for use in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials. Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling applications. Fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.5310 inch (13.49 millimeters) diameter. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A1244 product line.
Installation is performed by machinists, tool and die technicians, or qualified maintenance personnel operating drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand-held drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Use an appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to manage heat buildup and extend tool life. Follow applicable ANSI and shop safety guidelines when handling and storing cutting tools.
