The WALTER-TITEX 5154080 is a taper length, high speed steel (HSS) drill bit engineered for precision drilling in a wide range of metals. It measures 0.1040 inches in diameter (Wire Size No. 37) with an overall length of 3.75 inches and a parabolic flute length of 2.4375 inches. The 130-degree split point and web-thinned, tapered web geometry reduce entry force and improve chip evacuation. The coated finish extends tool life in demanding applications. Right-hand cutting direction and a parallel shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks. This bit is built to DIN 340 standards and is rated as a high-performance grade tool suited for production and maintenance environments.
This drill bit is designed for blind hole drilling, stack drilling, and through-hole drilling across a broad spectrum of materials including aluminum, aluminum silicon alloys, brass, bronze, copper alloys, stainless steel, and carbon steel. Its 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio and parabolic flute profile support deep-hole chip clearing with reduced pecking cycles. It is well-suited for machine shop, manufacturing, and MRO applications where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are priorities. The Series A1522 designation places it within a family of precision ground, production-grade drill bits commonly used in CNC and manual drilling operations.
Designed for use in materials including aluminum, aluminum silicon, brass, bronze, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel. Suitable for blind hole, stack, and through-hole drilling operations per Series A1522 application guidelines.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with drill press, CNC, or hand-held drilling equipment. Secure the parallel shank firmly in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Ensure the workpiece is clamped and that spindle speed and feed rate are set appropriately for the workpiece material before starting the cut. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use external cutting fluid as required by the material being drilled.
