The WALTER-TITEX 5154074 is a taper length twist drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in production and maintenance environments. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a coated finish, this bit features a 130-degree point angle and a parabolic flute geometry that improves chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during deep-hole applications. The web-thinned, tapered web design lowers entry force and improves centering accuracy. Licensed trades and metalworking machinists working with stainless steel, aluminum alloys, copper alloys, and ferrous materials will find this bit suited to demanding tolerances. It conforms to DIN 340 standards and carries a high-performance grade designation.
This drill bit is sized at 0.2130 inches in diameter, equivalent to wire size number 3, with a parallel shank of matching diameter. The overall length of 5.469 inches and a flute length of 3.594 inches provide clearance for blind hole work, stack drilling, and through-hole drilling operations. A flute-to-diameter ratio of 12xD supports extended reach without excessive flex. It is suited for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools when rigidity and setup allow for the appropriate feed and speed parameters required by the materials listed.
Designed for use in blind hole, stack drilling, and through-hole applications across aluminum, aluminum silicon alloys, brass, bronze, copper alloys, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 0.2130-inch parallel shank.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or qualified trade professionals familiar with metal-cutting operations. Secure the workpiece and verify chuck or collet runout before drilling to preserve diameter tolerance. Select feed rate and spindle speed according to the workpiece material and consult published cutting data for HSS tooling. Inspect the cutting edge for wear before each use and replace the bit if chipping or dimensional drift is observed.
