The WALTER-TITEX 5153706 is a single-ended spotting drill designed to create accurate center indentations before a follow-up twist drill or reamer engages the workpiece. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool features a 90-degree point angle that delivers precise spotting geometry on a wide range of metallic and non-metallic materials. The 3 mm cutting diameter and 50 mm overall length make it well-suited for light-duty production and repair work. With a two-flute spiral design and a 10 mm flute length, it evacuates chips cleanly while maintaining rigidity through the straight cylindrical shank.
This spotting drill belongs to the WALTER-TITEX A1115S series and is rated for general-purpose tool application. It is used in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments where accurate drill placement is required before a full drill-through operation. The right-hand cutting direction and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders found on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. It is appropriate for machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance mechanics working in both production and job-shop settings.
Designed as a general-purpose spotting drill for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank, suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or machine operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the tool from the chuck or collet holder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm proper alignment before engaging the workpiece. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection.
