The WALTER-TITEX 5073530 is a metric combination drill countersink designed to drill and countersink in a single operation. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. The body diameter is 4.00 mm, the drill point diameter is 1.60 mm, and the overall length is 35.50 mm. The included angle is 60 degrees. Right-hand cutting geometry makes it compatible with standard drill press and CNC setups. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production shop operators use this type of tool to prepare holes for flat-head fasteners without a separate countersinking step.
This combo drill countersink is suited for work on aluminum, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, titanium, titanium alloys, fiber reinforced plastics, graphite, non-ferrous metals, malleable cast iron, spheroidal cast iron, and plastics. The double end type allows the tool to be flipped and reused once one end dulls, reducing tooling cost in high-volume production environments. Typical applications include countersinking for machine screws, rivets, and socket-head cap screws in precision fabrication, aerospace component prep, and general metalworking.
Designed as a direct-fit metric combo drill countersink for use in standard drill press chucks, lathe tailstocks, and CNC tool holders accepting the 4.00 mm body diameter. Compatible workpiece materials include aluminum, steel, stainless steel, cast iron variants, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, titanium, titanium alloys, fiber reinforced plastics, graphite, and plastics as specified in the product attributes.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following standard shop safety procedures. Secure the workpiece fully before cutting and confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting geometry before engaging the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant for the workpiece material to reduce heat buildup and extend tool life. Inspect both cutting ends before each use and replace the tool if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
