The WALTER-TITEX 5071840 is a solid cobalt steel chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. With a 12.00mm (0.4724 inch) diameter and an h7 tolerance, this reamer delivers close-tolerance bores suitable for dowel pin fits, bearing seats, and other precision assemblies. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Six spiral flutes with a left-hand spiral direction and right-hand cutting geometry help evacuate chips efficiently while maintaining surface finish quality. Overall length is 151.00mm (5.9449 inches) with a 44.00mm flute length. It is part of the WALTER-TITEX F1352 series and is supplied bright/uncoated. Machinists and tool-room operators working on CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual lathes are the primary users.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing pre-drilled or bored holes to a precise 12.00mm h7 diameter in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Typical applications include production machining environments where tight tolerances are required on through-holes or blind holes in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The cobalt steel construction provides added heat and wear resistance compared to standard high-speed steel reamers, making it appropriate for harder workpiece materials or higher-speed operations. Coolant-through capability is not available on this model, so adequate external flood or mist coolant is recommended when reaming at higher feed rates.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks, ER collet systems, and similar straight-shank toolholders on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines requiring a 12.00mm h7 reamed hole.
Installation and use of this reamer should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with cutting tool safety practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is securely clamped in a properly sized chuck or collet before starting the cut. Always use appropriate cutting fluid or external coolant when reaming to extend tool life and maintain bore surface finish. Do not use the reamer to remove excess stock — pre-drill or bore the hole to within 0.10mm to 0.30mm of final diameter before reaming.
