The WALTER-TITEX 5062942 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision small-diameter drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this bit carries a wire gauge size of 54, equivalent to 1.40 mm (0.0551 inches) in diameter, with a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration. The spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation, and the bright/uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coating buildup tolerance is tight. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1.50 mm in diameter. At 25 mm (approximately 0.984 inches) overall length with a 9.50 mm flute length, this bit is suited for licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision manufacturing personnel working in tight tolerances.
This drill bit is rated for blind hole, stack drilling, and through hole drilling operations. It is primarily intended for titanium alloy workpieces and carries material codes K, N, P, and S, indicating suitability across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys as well as heat-resistant superalloys. Secondary workpiece materials include glass and graphite (codes M and O). The flute-by-diameter ratio is 5xD, with a maximum recommended drilling depth of 7.00 mm (0.300 inches). Right-hand cut geometry is standard. This bit is a single-piece package unit with a minimum order quantity of 10.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand-piece setups accepting a 1.50 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for titanium alloy (primary) and glass or graphite (secondary) workpiece materials per manufacturer specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and collet are free of debris and runout is minimized before seating the shank, as diameter tolerances at this scale are tight. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 7.00 mm without peck-drilling cycles to clear chips. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before each use, as micro drill bits are susceptible to edge damage that is not visible to the naked eye.
