The WALTER-TITEX 5062940 is a cobalt micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. With a 0.0512-inch diameter and a 118-degree standard point angle, this bit delivers accurate hole entry and consistent bore geometry in small-diameter work. The spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force during penetration. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1.50 mm in diameter and fits standard collet chucks and precision drill presses. Overall length is 25.00 mm. This bit is manufactured to DIN 1899 standards and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
The 5062940 is suited for blind hole, through hole, and stack drilling operations across metalworking and precision manufacturing environments. Its cobalt construction gives it the heat resistance needed when drilling titanium alloy and similar high-strength materials. It also performs well in secondary materials such as glass and graphite. Maximum drilling depth is 6.00 mm (0.200 inches), making it appropriate for shallow, precise bores in thin workpieces or stacked material assemblies. This bit is a fit for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual precision setups used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
Designed for use with titanium alloy as the primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for glass and graphite. Compatible with standard collet chucks and holders accepting a 1.50 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A3143 micro drill line.
This bit should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a precision collet or chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as deflection is a primary failure mode at this diameter. Reduce feed rate and spindle speed incrementally when drilling brittle secondary materials such as glass. Inspect the cutting edge before each use, as cobalt micro drills are susceptible to chipping if mishandled or dropped.
