The WALTER-TITEX 5062891 is a cobalt micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding materials including titanium alloy, glass, and graphite. Built to DIN 1899 standards, it features a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces entry force and improves chip evacuation in small-diameter applications. The bit is manufactured from M35 cobalt high-speed steel and left in a bright, uncoated finish. With an overall length of 25 mm and a shank diameter of 1.00 mm, this tool is sized for micro-drilling work where tight tolerances and clean hole geometry are critical. Licensed machinists and precision tooling technicians are the primary installers and operators.
This micro drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling, through hole drilling, and stack drilling operations. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and spiral flute geometry support chip removal in deep relative to diameter cuts. Primary workpiece material designation covers titanium alloys as well as cast iron, non-ferrous, and superalloy classifications per material codes K, N, P, and S. Secondary workpiece materials include glass and graphite. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet chucks and drill press spindles used in precision machining and micro-fabrication setups.
Designed for use in precision drilling applications involving titanium alloy, glass, and graphite workpieces per material codes K, N, P, S, M, and O. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks accepting 1.00 mm shank diameters. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A3143 micro drill line built to DIN 1899.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or precision tooling technicians familiar with micro-drill handling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the spindle speed required by the workpiece material before beginning any operation. At 0.0225 inches in diameter, this bit is extremely fragile — avoid side loading, pecking aggressively, or running without appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication. Inspect the bit for runout before use; even minor chuck misalignment can cause breakage at this diameter.
