The WALTER-TITEX 5062888 is a cobalt micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this bit features a 0.54 mm diameter, a 118-degree standard point angle, and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. The M35 cobalt steel construction provides heat resistance and edge retention when cutting titanium alloys and other abrasive workpiece materials. The bright uncoated finish is suited for applications where coating buildup or contamination is a concern. With a 25 mm overall length and a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, the bit seats securely in standard micro drill chucks and precision collets.
This bit is designed for blind hole, through hole, and stack drilling operations in tight-tolerance applications. The Series A3143 geometry with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and spiral flute design promotes chip evacuation in shallow micro holes. Primary workpiece materials include titanium alloy, with secondary suitability for glass and graphite. The 3.90 mm flute length and 3.00 mm maximum drilling depth make this bit appropriate for thin-section and laminate work where breakout control and hole quality are critical.
Designed for use in blind hole, stack drilling, and through hole drilling operations. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes titanium alloy (material codes K, N, P, S). Secondary workpiece materials include glass and graphite (material codes M, O). Fits chucks and collets accepting a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of micro drill bits at this diameter range should be performed by machinists or tooling professionals familiar with micro-drilling setups. Ensure the spindle and chuck are clean and true before seating the bit, as runout at this diameter will cause premature breakage. Confirm drilling depth does not exceed the 3.00 mm maximum to avoid bit deflection or fracture. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing tooling.
