The WALTER-TITEX 5062857 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this wire size 89 bit measures 0.0091 inches in diameter with a 25 mm overall length and a 118-degree standard point angle. Constructed from M35 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers consistent performance in small-diameter drilling where dimensional accuracy and tool life are critical. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces entry force and improves chip evacuation in tight bore conditions. Right-hand spiral fluting and a straight-cylindrical shank keep the tool stable in precision chuck setups.
This micro drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling, through-hole drilling, and stack drilling operations. Its primary workpiece materials are titanium alloys and high-strength steels, making it a practical choice for aerospace component work, precision machining, and specialty fabrication. Secondary applications include drilling glass and graphite composites. The 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio supports controlled chip clearance even at maximum drilling depths of 1.10 mm. It is typically run on CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, or precision benchtop equipment where spindle runout is tightly controlled.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit micro drill bit for applications requiring wire size 89 tooling per DIN 1899. Compatible with precision machining setups targeting titanium alloy (material codes K, N, P, S), steel, glass, and graphite workpieces.
Installation and operation of micro drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with small-diameter tooling protocols. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing or seating tooling. Use a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the 1.00 mm shank diameter to minimize runout, which is critical at this scale. Avoid manual feed pressure beyond what the machine feed rate controls allow, as bits of this diameter are highly susceptible to deflection and breakage under uneven lateral load.
