The WALTER-TITEX 5062851 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials including titanium alloys, glass, and graphite. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this wire-gauge size 95 bit measures 0.0067 inches (0.17 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 25 mm. The 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduce entry thrust and improve centering accuracy at very small diameters. The M35 cobalt material grade provides heat resistance and edge retention well above standard high-speed steel. Designed for right-hand spiral flute cutting, the bit delivers consistent chip evacuation in both blind and through-hole applications. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and precision fabricators working with exotic alloys rely on this drill for close-tolerance micro-drilling work.
The 5062851 is suited for blind hole drilling, through-hole drilling, and stack drilling operations in titanium alloy and similar hard or abrasive workpiece materials. Secondary applications include glass and graphite drilling where controlled entry geometry is critical. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 1.00 mm shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and micro-drill holders commonly used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand-held equipment. Maximum drilling depth is rated at 0.80 mm, making this bit appropriate for ultra-shallow precision bores in production or repair environments.
Designed for use in applications involving titanium alloy as the primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for glass and graphite. Conforms to DIN 1899 standards for micro drill geometry. Fits straight-cylindrical collet chucks and micro-drill holders accepting a 1.00 mm shank diameter.
Micro drill bits of this diameter require a precision collet or dedicated micro-drill chuck to prevent runout that would immediately damage the tool. Always verify spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance before use. Operate at appropriate high-speed RPM for the workpiece material and use a cutting fluid or mist coolant where the material and machine setup permit, even though through-coolant is not available on this bit. Never apply side load or use this bit for anything other than axial drilling.
