The WALTER-TITEX 5062628 is an extra length, high speed steel (HSS M2 grade) twist drill bit designed for deep-hole and stack drilling applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bit measures 0.1094 inches in diameter with a 5.906-inch overall length, giving it a flute-by-diameter ratio of 16xD for reaching depths that standard-length drills cannot achieve. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during extended cuts. A 130-degree split point with web thinning and a UFL point type allow the bit to start without a center punch and reduce thrust in hard materials. It is sold individually and targeted at machining professionals, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians.
This bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel, as well as secondary materials including cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks without adapters. Blind hole and stack drilling are the primary listed applications, making this bit a practical choice for aerospace, metalworking, and general machining environments where deep reach and accurate diameter tolerance are required. The uncoated finish keeps regrinding straightforward when the cutting edge wears.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit extra length drill bit for use in any standard drill chuck or machine spindle accepting a straight-cylindrical shank; compatible with cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, cobalt alloys, nickel, and titanium alloy workpieces per the manufacturer material codes K, N, P, M, O, and S.
This bit is installed and operated by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians using a drill press, CNC machining center, or hand-held drilling equipment with an appropriate chuck. Before changing or seating the bit, ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and the chuck is secured. Apply cutting fluid or coolant as appropriate for the workpiece material, noting that this bit does not have through-coolant capability. Inspect the cutting edge and web condition before each use; a worn or chipped edge increases thrust and can cause drill wander or workpiece damage.
