The WALTER-TITEX 5062616 is a high-performance extra length drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling applications in metalworking environments. It carries a 0.2756-inch (7.00 mm) diameter and a 130-degree split point angle with web thinning to reduce thrust and improve centering at entry. The flute length measures 6.1024 inches (155.00 mm), enabling a maximum drilling depth of 5.63 inches (143.00 mm). Manufactured from M2 high speed steel in an uncoated finish, this bit is suited for production and maintenance machinists working with steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It belongs to the Series A1622 line and conforms to DIN 1869-I, ANSI, and ISO standards.
This bit is built for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations where standard-length bits cannot reach. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep holes, reducing the need for peck drilling cycles. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Secondary materials include cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys, making this bit versatile across a range of industrial machining setups in both production and toolroom settings.
Designed as a Series A1622 extra length drill bit per DIN 1869-I classification. Compatible primary workpiece materials are cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel (material codes K, N, P). Secondary workpiece materials include cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys (material codes M, O, S). No coolant-through capability; intended for use with external coolant or dry drilling as appropriate to the application.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with deep-hole drilling practices. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a compatible drill chuck or collet holder before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Power down the machine and lock out energy sources before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 5.63 inches, and follow shop-standard chip-clearing procedures to prevent flute packing during extended cuts.
