The WALTER-TITEX 5062610 is an extra length high speed steel twist drill bit designed for deep-hole and stack drilling applications where standard-length bits cannot reach. Built to Series A1622 specifications and conforming to DIN 1869-I, ANSI, and ISO standards, this right-hand cutting bit features a parabolic flute geometry and a 130-degree split point for efficient chip evacuation and accurate entry. The M2 HSS grade construction delivers reliable performance across a range of metalworking applications. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 16xD and a maximum drilling depth of 5.472 inches, this bit handles deep penetration without requiring step drilling or pecking cycles on many materials.
This drill bit is suited for machining cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability on cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. Typical applications include blind hole drilling and stack drilling in production shop, maintenance, and fabrication environments. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and is compatible with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld power drills where the shank diameter is accommodated. The uncoated finish makes it straightforward to resharpen with standard toolroom equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production tooling option for deep-hole drilling in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and steel workpieces; secondary compatibility with cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys as specified for Series A1622.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die professionals using standard drill chucks or collet holders sized for the 0.252-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is at a full stop before changing or seating the bit. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to manage heat and extend tool life. Inspect the point geometry and web thinning before use; resharpen or replace if the cutting edges show wear to avoid oversize holes or tool breakage.
