The WALTER-TITEX 5062589 is an extra length high speed steel drill bit engineered for deep-hole drilling in metalworking applications. It measures 0.1772 inches (4.50 mm) in diameter with a total flute length of 4.9213 inches (125.00 mm) and a maximum drilling depth of 4.6060 inches (117.00 mm). The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole operations, while the web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust and improves centering at entry. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with no coating, this bit is suited for production environments where consistent dimensional tolerance is required. The drill holds a diameter tolerance of -0.00071 to 0.00000 inches. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials, and is also applicable to cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy as secondary workpiece materials. It is designed for blind hole and stack drilling operations. The 16xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach beyond standard-length tooling. The straight-cylindrical shank with a shank length of 2.3620 inches (60.00 mm) is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems used in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses.
Designed for blind hole and stack drilling in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and steel as primary materials, with additional suitability for cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy workpieces. Conforms to ANSI, DIN 1869-I, and ISO standards. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A1622 extra length drill line.
Installation and use of this drill bit is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians in machine shop environments. Before mounting, verify that the spindle, chuck, or collet is clean and within tolerance for the 4.50 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Ensure the machine is fully de-energized and in a safe state before changing tooling. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 4.6060 inches; exceeding rated depth can cause flute packing and bit breakage, particularly in stack drilling setups.
