The WALTER-TITEX 5062585 is an extra length, high-speed steel (HSS) twist drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in metalworking applications. Built to DIN 1869-I and ISO standards, it features a 130-degree point angle with a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for efficient chip evacuation and reduced thrust at entry. The parabolic flute geometry promotes fast chip removal during blind hole and stack drilling operations. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 4.1 mm in diameter and seats securely in standard drill chucks. At a flute-to-diameter ratio of 16xD, this bit delivers reach that standard jobber-length drills cannot match. Material grade is M2 high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish.
This drill bit is suited for machining cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials. Secondary workpiece materials include cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. Typical applications include blind hole drilling and stack drilling in production machining environments. The extended overall length and parabolic flute design make it a strong fit for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where standard-length tooling cannot reach the required depth. Right-hand cutting direction only.
Designed as a Series A1622 extra length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting 4.1 mm straight-cylindrical shanks. Compatible with cast iron, non-ferrous metal, steel, cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy workpiece materials as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the recommended grip depth before operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 113 mm to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
