The WALTER-TITEX 5062581 is an extra length, two-flute twist drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in metal fabrication, machining, and maintenance applications. Built from M2 high speed steel with no coating, the bit measures 0.0938 inches in diameter with a 5.5-inch overall length, giving it a 16xD flute-by-diameter ratio suited for reaching beyond what standard-length drills can access. The 130-degree point angle and web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduce entry thrust and help center the drill without a pilot hole. Parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation in deeper cuts, reducing the risk of chip packing in blind bores. This is a right-hand cutting tool conforming to ANSI, DIN 1869-I, and ISO standards.
This drill bit is intended for use in blind hole and stack drilling operations where extended reach is required. It is suited for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks used on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools in production, job shop, and field maintenance settings. Machinists, tool and die workers, and maintenance technicians are the typical end users.
Designed as a Series A1622 extra length drill bit per DIN 1869-I for use in blind hole and stack drilling of cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, cobalt alloys, nickel, and titanium alloys. Straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 3/32 inches fits standard drill chucks across a range of drilling equipment.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with proper drill press or CNC setup procedures. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and confirm chuck grip on the full shank length to prevent slippage under load. For blind hole applications, set depth stops appropriately and clear chips regularly to prevent packing, particularly at extended depths. Follow applicable shop safety standards and equipment manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection based on workpiece material.
