The WALTER-TITEX 5062547 is a high-performance extra length drill bit designed for deep-hole and blind-hole drilling in demanding shop and field environments. Built from uncoated High Speed Steel with a 130-degree split point and parabolic flute geometry, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and reduced thrust in tough materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.1720 inches in diameter and 2.362 inches in length, while the overall tool stretches to 7-9/32 inches to reach depths conventional jobber drills cannot. This bit is intended for installation by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and industrial maintenance technicians.
This drill bit is built for applications where standard-length bits fall short. Typical uses include blind-hole drilling, stack drilling, and deep-reach work on cast iron, steel, non-ferrous metals, cobalt alloys, nickel alloys, iron, and titanium alloys. The 16xD flute-to-diameter ratio and parabolic flute form support consistent chip clearing at extended depths, reducing the need for peck cycles in lighter-duty setups. It suits both manual and CNC-controlled vertical mills, drill presses, and machining centers running right-hand rotation.
Designed for use with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.1720-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and steel, with secondary material suitability for cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys per WALTER-TITEX Series A1622 specifications.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Confirm runout and chuck grip before beginning a cut, and apply appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material where recommended by shop practice. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 4.606 inches or apply side-loading forces to this straight-shank tool.
