The WALTER-TITEX 5062546 is a high-performance extra length twist drill bit engineered for deep-hole and blind-hole applications in demanding shop and field environments. Built from uncoated high speed steel with a parabolic flute geometry, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces at extended reach. The drill carries a 0.3438-inch cutting diameter, a 130-degree point angle, and a web-thinned tip for easier entry into ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. With an overall length of 9.84 inches and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 16xD, it is suited for jobs where standard-length drills cannot reach. Machinists, tool and die tradespeople, and precision fabricators are the primary installers.
This drill bit is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where extended reach into cast iron, steel, and non-ferrous metals is required. It is also rated for secondary use in cobalt, nickel, iron, and titanium alloy workpieces, making it applicable in aerospace component work, heavy fabrication, and precision maintenance machining. The Series A1622 designation places it within a family of long-series drills built to DIN 1869-I and ANSI standards. Blind hole drilling and stack drilling are the stated primary application scenarios for this tool.
Designed as a DIN 1869-I Series A1622 extra length drill bit for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy materials. Compatible with any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 0.3440-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation of this drill bit is performed by machinists and precision fabricators using standard drill chucks or collet tool holders rated for the 0.3440-inch shank diameter. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and drill diameter before starting the cut. Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement during stack or blind hole drilling. Coolant-through operation is not supported on this tool; external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended for extended cuts in ferrous materials.
