The WALTER-TITEX 5062544 is an extra length high-speed steel drill bit designed for deep-hole and stack drilling applications where standard-length drills cannot reach. Built from M2 grade HSS with an uncoated bright finish, it features a 130-degree point angle with UFL point geometry and a parabolic flute design for improved chip evacuation. The 11 mm diameter bit carries a 280 mm overall length with a 195 mm flute length, giving it a flute-to-diameter ratio of 16xD. A tapered web with web thinning reduces thrust and improves penetration in demanding materials. Licensed tradespeople and machining professionals install this bit in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual boring setups.
This bit is rated for blind hole and stack drilling operations. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Secondary materials include cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank with an 11 mm shank diameter and 85 mm shank length seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. Its parabolic flute geometry aids chip clearance in deep passes, reducing the need for peck-drilling cycles in many applications. The Series A1622 designation places it within the WALTER-TITEX high-performance drill line, built to ANSI, DIN 1869-I, and ISO standards.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials. Also rated for secondary materials including cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting an 11 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling professionals familiar with drill press and CNC machining setups. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance before drilling. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the bit. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable ANSI machining standards when setting feeds and speeds for the workpiece material.
