The WALTER-TITEX 5062542 is an extra length twist drill bit engineered for deep-hole drilling applications in metalworking operations. Ground from M2 high speed steel and left uncoated, this bit features a parabolic flute geometry and a 130-degree drill point angle with web thinning for improved chip evacuation and reduced thrust. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.1500 inches in length and 10.00 mm in diameter, providing solid tool holding in standard drill chucks and collet systems. With a flute length of 7.2835 inches and a maximum drilling depth of 6.6540 inches, it handles deep-reach requirements that standard-length bits cannot address. Tolerances are held to +0.000 to -0.027 mm on diameter. Part of the Series A1622 line and manufactured to ANSI, DIN 1869-I, and ISO standards.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole and stack drilling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials. Secondary materials include cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The extra length design is commonly specified by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians who need extended reach in production environments, fixture work, or structural drilling applications where standard jobber-length bits fall short. Coolant-through capability is not included, so external flood or mist coolant application is recommended for extended drilling cycles.
Designed for use in compatible drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for blind hole and stack drilling in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, steel, cobalt alloys, nickel, and titanium alloys per Series A1622 application guidelines.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using standard drill press, CNC machining center, or hand-held drilling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the bit. Confirm shank seating depth and chuck or collet torque per the machine tool manufacturer specifications before beginning a drilling cycle. External coolant or cutting fluid is recommended when drilling deep holes to manage heat buildup and chip clearing, as this bit does not include coolant-through capability.
