The WALTER-TITEX 5062531 is a high speed steel (HSS) extra length drill bit designed for demanding drilling applications where standard-length bits cannot reach. Built to Series A1622 and conforming to DIN 1869-I, ANSI, and ISO standards, this bit features a 130-degree drill point angle with web thinning for reduced thrust and cleaner entry. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, which is critical in deep-hole work. With a 5.5-inch overall length and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 16xD, this bit handles blind hole and stack drilling tasks that require extended reach and chip clearance. Material grade M2 HSS provides the hardness and thermal resistance needed for production drilling without coating.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole and stack drilling operations in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials. Secondary workpiece materials include cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. Typical users include machinists, tool and die professionals, and maintenance technicians working in metalworking, fabrication, and industrial maintenance environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit extra length drill bit for standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.0995-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with blind hole and stack drilling setups on cast iron, non-ferrous metal, steel, cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy workpieces per Series A1622 application ratings.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling professional. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a calibrated chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Always power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing bits. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 3.583 inches for this bit diameter, and ensure adequate chip clearance intervals during deep-hole drilling cycles.
