The WALTER-TITEX 5062522 is an extra length, two-flute high speed steel (HSS M2) drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in demanding production environments. It features a parabolic flute geometry and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduces thrust during entry. The 130-degree split point (UFL type) improves centering accuracy without a pilot hole. At 6-3/32 inches overall length with a 4-1/8 inch flute length, this bit reaches depths that standard-length drills cannot. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.1285 inches in diameter, matching the cutting diameter for direct chuck mounting.
This drill bit is engineered for blind hole and stack drilling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary materials, and cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys as secondary materials. It is built to Series A1622 standards and meets ANSI, DIN 1869-I, and ISO specifications. Typical users include machinists, tool and die technicians, and production drilling operators working with CNC machining centers or drill presses where extended reach and chip clearance are critical.
Series A1622 extra length drill bit compatible with cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy workpieces. Meets ANSI, DIN 1869-I, and ISO standards. Designed for use in conventional drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual machine tools accepting a 0.1285-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with proper chuck mounting and machine speeds for HSS tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck is secured before inserting or removing the bit. Verify chuck jaw condition and concentricity to maintain the tight diameter tolerance of -0.00071 to 0.00000 inches. Follow applicable workplace safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for RPM selection based on workpiece material and drill diameter.
