The WALTER-TITEX 5062521 is an extra length, high speed steel (HSS) drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling applications in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built to Series A1622 standards, it features a parabolic flute geometry and a 130-degree split point for aggressive chip evacuation and reduced thrust in tough materials. The bit carries an M2 HSS material grade, runs uncoated, and is web-thinned with a tapered web configuration to improve performance at depth. At 8.0625 inches overall length with a 5.5-inch flute length, this bit reaches where standard-length drills cannot. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and fabrication shops requiring extended reach in production or maintenance drilling.
The 5062521 is suited for blind hole and stack drilling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials. Secondary workpiece materials include cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The right-hand cutting direction and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Conforming to ANSI, DIN 1869-I, and ISO specifications, this bit fits production environments where dimensional consistency and reach are critical. Maximum drilling depth is 5.157 inches (131 mm), providing a 16xD flute-by-diameter ratio for extended reach applications.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.213-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel, with secondary capability in cobalt alloys, nickel, and titanium alloys.
Installation is performed by machinists or fabrication professionals using compatible drill chucks or collet systems rated for the 0.213-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the bit. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant selection based on workpiece material, noting this bit does not support through-coolant. Verify maximum drilling depth does not exceed 5.157 inches to avoid flute engagement beyond rated capacity.
