The WALTER-TITEX 5062520 is a high speed steel extra length drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling applications in metalworking. It carries a 0.136 inch (wire size 29) diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation at extended depths. The 130-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements. Material grade M2 high speed steel provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for production drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and production floor technicians are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is built for blind hole and stack drilling operations where standard-length bits cannot reach. The parabolic flute profile supports higher feed rates and cleaner chip clearance in deep-hole work. It is suited for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability in cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The 16xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 4.291 inches make it appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills requiring extended reach.
Designed as a Series A1622 extra length drill bit for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary materials, and in cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys as secondary materials, following DIN 1869-I specification.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in standard drill chucks or collet holders sized for a 0.136 inch shank. Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling steel or titanium alloys to manage heat. Follow shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection based on workpiece material.
