The WALTER-TITEX 5062504 is an extra length, high speed steel (HSS) twist drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series A1622 and conforming to DIN 1869-I, ANSI, and ISO standards, this bit features a parabolic flute geometry that improves chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during extended cuts. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.182 inches in diameter, matching the cutting diameter for secure chuck engagement. With a 130-degree drill point angle and web-thinned, tapered web construction, the bit enters material cleanly and reduces thrust force on the workpiece. It is supplied uncoated and ground from M2 high speed steel for consistent edge retention across a range of metals.
This bit is suited for blind hole and stack drilling operations in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials. Secondary material compatibility includes cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The 16xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 4.606 inches make it appropriate for applications where standard-length bits cannot reach. It is typically used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine setups in tool and die, general machining, and fabrication shops.

For deep-hole applications, use a peck drilling cycle to clear chips and prevent heat buildup, particularly when working with steel or titanium alloys.
