The WALTER-TITEX 5060618 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Measuring 7.3 mm (0.2874 inches) in diameter with a 4-9/32-inch overall length, this bit features a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting resistance. The oxide coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance. A split point at 130 degrees allows immediate engagement without center-punching, minimizing walking on entry. Built to ANSI and ISO standards, the 5060618 is engineered for professional machinists and trade technicians who need reliable performance across hard and abrasion-resistant work materials.
This drill bit is suited for drilling blind holes and stack drilling operations in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters, making it practical for both machine tool setups and hand-held drill press work. The parabolic flute design supports deeper hole drilling with a maximum drilling depth of 2.244 inches (57 mm), and the 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio allows extended reach in challenging materials without significant deflection.
Part of the Walter-Titex Series A1247 product line, this bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes K, M, N, P, S). It is designed for blind hole and stack drilling tool applications where a straight-cylindrical shank is required.
Install this bit in a properly rated drill chuck or CNC collet, ensuring the shank is fully seated and the chuck is tightened securely before operation. Always wear appropriate eye and face protection when drilling metals, particularly stainless steel and titanium, which generate sharp, hot chips. Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement during drilling. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed appropriate to the workpiece material and bit diameter.
