The WALTER-TITEX 5060603 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built to Series A1247 specifications, this bit features a 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch decimal) diameter with a 130-degree split point and parabolic flute geometry. The oxide coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance. It is designed for professionals who need consistent, accurate hole placement in hard and abrasive materials without frequent tool changes. The straight-cylindrical shank and web-thinned tip reduce entry force and improve chip evacuation in deep-hole work.
This drill bit is suited for machining and fabrication environments where cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium are common workpiece materials. Typical applications include blind hole drilling and stack drilling where tool rigidity and chip clearance are critical. The parabolic flute design supports an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio, making it effective for deeper drilling passes without packing. It is commonly used by machinists, tool-and-die workers, maintenance technicians, and fabrication professionals working with a drill press, CNC machine, or hand drill in fixed setups.
Suited for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon steel, superalloys, and titanium. Workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S per ISO classification. Designed for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks on drill presses, CNC drilling centers, and hand drills in fixed setups.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance professionals familiar with drill bit selection and machine setup. Secure the workpiece and verify spindle speed is appropriate for the material before drilling. Ensure the chuck is clean and properly tightened to prevent runout. Coolant through is not supported on this bit, so apply cutting fluid externally when working with stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to manage heat buildup.
