The WALTER-TITEX 5060602 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It measures 5/16 inches in diameter with an overall length of 4-19/32 inches and a flute length of 2-15/16 inches. The bit features a 130-degree split point for accurate starting without center-punching, a parabolic flute profile for efficient chip evacuation, and an oxide coating to reduce heat buildup and extend tool life. The straight-cylindrical shank and h8 diameter tolerance ensure consistent, repeatable fit in standard drill chucks and tool holders. This bit is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking trades professionals.
The 5060602 is built for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, and superalloys including titanium. It belongs to the Series A1247, which is rated for high-performance use in production and job-shop environments where tool life and hole accuracy in tough materials are the primary concerns. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling relative to diameter without sacrificing chip clearance. Maximum drilling depth is 2.441 inches.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Suitable for use in standard drill chucks and tool holders accepting a 5/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with WALTER-TITEX Series A1247 tooling programs.
This bit is installed and used by machinists and metalworking technicians in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills with appropriate chucks. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling production parts. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to manage heat. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection based on workpiece material and hole depth.
