The WALTER-TITEX 5060583 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. The bit measures 4.1 mm (0.1614 inches) in diameter with a 2-15/16 inch overall length and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole operations. An oxide coating over the cobalt substrate increases surface hardness and heat resistance. The 130-degree split point reduces thrust force at entry and self-centers on curved or uneven surfaces without a center punch. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die techs, and metalworking professionals are the primary users of this bit.
This bit is rated for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, superalloys, and titanium. The parabolic flute with an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned tapered web supports deeper cuts with reduced walking. It conforms to ANSI, ISO, BS, and DIN standards, making it suitable for shops running mixed domestic and metric tooling programs. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces per order.
The 5060583 is rated for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. It is part of WALTER-TITEX Series A1247 and is suited for blind hole and stack drilling operations on materials with ISO workpiece codes K, M, N, P, and S.
This bit is installed in standard drill chucks or collet holders accepting straight-cylindrical shanks at 0.1614 inches shank diameter. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant on stainless steel, titanium, and superalloys to manage heat even though this bit does not have internal coolant-through capability. Inspect the cutting edge and web condition before each use when drilling abrasive or work-hardening materials.
