The WALTER-TITEX 5060561 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough and abrasive materials. Built to Series A1247 specifications, it carries a 2.9 mm (0.1142 inch) diameter with a 130-degree split point for reduced thrust and accurate self-centering on entry. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation, especially in deep or blind hole applications. An oxide coating provides surface hardness and lubricity. With a straight-cylindrical shank and a 2-13/32 inch overall length, this bit fits standard drill chucks and is suited for use in CNC drilling centers, drill presses, and hand-held power drills used by machinists and metalworking tradespeople.
This drill bit is engineered for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, superalloys, and titanium. It is well-suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations where clean entry and consistent chip clearance matter. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports a maximum drilling depth of 28 mm (1.102 inches), making it practical for moderate-depth passes in production or repair shop environments without through-coolant requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld power tools. Suitable for primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S as defined by ISO material classification.
This bit is installed by a machinist or metalworking technician into a standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1142 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant at the workpiece surface when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to manage heat buildup, even though this bit does not feature through-coolant capability. Follow applicable shop safety and machinery guarding standards during setup and operation.
