The WALTER-TITEX 5060554 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. With a 2.2 mm diameter (0.0866 inches) and a 130-degree split point, it starts on contact without a center punch, reducing walking on hard surfaces. The oxide-coated cobalt construction provides heat resistance and wear life beyond standard HSS bits. A parabolic flute design with web thinning promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces thrust in deep holes. Overall length is 2-3/32 inches with a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.0886 inches diameter. This bit is suited for use by machinists and maintenance technicians working with tight-tolerance, hard-material drilling applications.
The 5060554 is designed for drilling blind holes and stack drilling operations in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is well-suited for job shop, production floor, and field maintenance environments where material hardness and hole accuracy demand a high-performance cobalt tool. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling to a maximum depth of 0.906 inches (23.00 mm) without coolant-through capability, making it practical for standard drill press or hand drill applications where flood or through-tool coolant is unavailable.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.0886-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A1247 high-performance cobalt drill line covering the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck and verify runout before drilling. Power down and de-energize any machine tool before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 0.906 inches without retracting to clear chips, particularly in blind-hole applications.
