The WALTER-TITEX 5060551 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to Series A1247 standards, it features a 19/64 inch (0.2969 inch decimal) diameter with a 130-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry. The oxide coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance. With an overall length of 4-19/32 inches and a right-hand cut, this bit suits production and maintenance drilling environments where consistent, clean hole entry and efficient chip evacuation are required. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical tradespeople as well as industrial machinists rely on cobalt bits like this one for drilling into ferrous and hard alloy materials that would quickly dull standard HSS tooling.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. The parabolic flute design with an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports efficient chip removal in both blind hole and stack drilling applications. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force and improves centering at the start of the cut. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power drills in controlled shop or field fabrication settings.
Designed as a Series A1247 jobber length drill bit compatible with standard straight-cylindrical drill chucks. Suitable for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Coolant-through is not supported on this model.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with rotating tooling safety practices. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a keyed or keyless chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Always bring the spindle to a full stop before changing bits or clearing chips from a blind hole. Follow applicable workplace safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed selection based on workpiece material.
