The WALTER-TITEX 5060499 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries a wire gauge size of No. 55, a decimal diameter of 0.0520 inches, and an overall length of 1-9/16 inches. The 130-degree split point reduces thrust and self-centers on entry, while the parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. The oxide coating provides baseline heat resistance. This bit is part of WALTER-TITEX Series A1247 and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration make it effective in tougher alloys where standard high-speed steel bits lose edge retention quickly. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. Maximum drilling depth is 0.591 inches (15.00 mm).
Designed as an OEM-style jobber length drill bit in Series A1247, suitable for use in standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers accepting straight-cylindrical shanks at 0.0520-inch diameter. Rated for cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die professionals using standard drill chucks or collets compatible with the straight-cylindrical shank. Ensure the workpiece is properly clamped and the spindle is brought to a full stop before bit changes. No coolant-through capability is present on this bit, so external cutting fluid or mist cooling is recommended when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to preserve edge life. Verify chuck runout before use, as excessive runout at this small diameter accelerates premature wear or breakage.
