The WALTER-TITEX 5060307 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from M35-grade cobalt steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit delivers the heat resistance and edge retention needed when working stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 130-degree VA point reduces thrust and centers accurately without a pilot hole. At 1.6929 inches overall length with a 0.7874-inch flute, it fits standard drill chucks in benchtop, CNC, and hand-held applications. A regular spiral, two-flute geometry provides consistent chip evacuation in both blind-hole and stack-drilling operations. This bit is sized at 1.70 mm (0.0669 inches) diameter with an h8 tolerance shank.
This drill bit is suited for precision work on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in industrial maintenance, fabrication, and mechanical contracting environments. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks without adapters, making it practical for both CNC drill presses and hand-held power tools. Intended applications include blind-hole drilling and stack drilling where consistent point geometry and material toughness are critical. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper engagement relative to bit diameter, which is useful in tight-clearance or layered-material setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use bit for applications requiring a 1.70 mm (0.0669 inches) diameter cobalt jobber-length drill in Series A1244, conforming to DIN 338 and ANSI and ISO standards for straight-shank jobber drills.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists, maintenance technicians, or trade professionals familiar with metal-cutting operations. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the drill chuck and verify runout before beginning any drilling cycle. Reduce spindle speed and apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel or superalloys to prevent work hardening. Never exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.6693 inches without retracting to clear chips and re-apply lubrication.
