The WALTER-TITEX 5059549 is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in a range of metalworking applications. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating, this bit measures 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch decimal) in diameter with an overall length of 2-3/4 inches. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the web-thinned, tapered web point reduces thrust requirements at the cutting tip. The 130-degree split point is suited for initiating cuts on hard or uneven surfaces without walking. Licensed tradespeople and skilled machinists are the primary installers of this tooling in production and maintenance environments.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel, covering a broad range of common workpiece materials encountered in fabrication, maintenance, and repair settings. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before beginning a drilling operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steel or cast iron to manage heat buildup, noting this bit does not support through-coolant delivery. Always wear appropriate PPE and ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped before drilling. Inspect the cutting edge for wear between uses and replace when point geometry is no longer intact.
