The WALTER-TITEX 5059448 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in a range of metalworking applications. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating, this bit measures 15/64 inches (0.2344 inches decimal) in diameter and carries a 130-degree split point angle with web thinning for reduced thrust and cleaner entry. The parabolic flute geometry promotes faster chip evacuation compared to standard spiral flutes, making it well suited for production drilling environments. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks. Installation is handled by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking trades.
This bit is engineered for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The tapered web configuration and web-thinned point reduce walking at entry and support consistent performance across these material groups. The overall length is 3-21/32 inches with a flute length of 2-1/4 inches, providing a flute-to-diameter ratio of 8xD for deeper reach applications. The bit meets ANSI, ISO, BS, and DIN standards and is classified as a high-performance grade tool within the A1222 series.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Suited for blind hole and stack drilling applications where parabolic flute geometry and web-thinned points are required. Part of the WALTER-TITEX A1222 series.
This bit is installed by machinists and metalworking technicians using standard drill chucks or drill press setups. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the spindle speed is set appropriately for the material and bit diameter before drilling. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 1.89 inches without retracting to clear chips. Follow shop safety practices and applicable ANSI machining standards when operating drilling equipment.
