The WALTER-TITEX 5059399 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Ground from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit features a parabolic flute geometry and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust force and improves chip evacuation. The 130-degree split point starts on contact without a center punch, and the straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks. Overall length is 40 millimeters, with an 18-millimeter flute length and a maximum drilling depth of 15 millimeters. Diameter tolerance is held to h8 for consistent, repeatable hole quality. This is a high-performance grade tool suited to production environments where dimensional accuracy matters.
This drill bit is sized to wire gauge 55, corresponding to 0.0520 inch decimal diameter. It is intended for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications in light manufacturing, metalworking shops, and maintenance settings. The parabolic flute with an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio handles chip loads efficiently at standard cutting speeds for HSS tooling. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries BS and DIN specification designations, making it a recognized option for shops working to those standards. Series designation is A1222. Right-hand cut only.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks accepting straight-cylindrical shanks at 0.0520 inch diameter. Suitable for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in blind hole and stack drilling operations per Series A1222 application parameters.
This bit is installed and serviced by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard drill press, CNC drilling center, or hand drill with a compatible chuck. Verify chuck capacity accepts the 0.0520 inch shank before mounting. Secure the workpiece before drilling to prevent movement, particularly in stack drilling setups. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 15 millimeters per pass without retracting to clear chips.
