The WALTER-TITEX 5059361 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Ground from high speed steel with an oxide coating for improved lubricity and surface protection, this bit measures 0.161 inches in diameter and carries a wire gauge designation of number 20. The 130-degree split point with web-thinning reduces entry thrust and improves centering without a pilot hole. The parabolic flute geometry evacuates chips efficiently at the flute-to-diameter ratio of 8xD, making it well-suited for deeper hole applications where chip packing is a concern.
This bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel, covering a wide range of trade and production drilling tasks. It is a practical choice for HVAC bracket work, plumbing rough-in drilling, electrical panel fabrication, and general metalworking where precision small-diameter holes are required. Designed for both blind hole and stack drilling applications, it conforms to ANSI and ISO standards as well as BS and DIN specification designations. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks without an adapter.
Designed for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Suitable for use in standard drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling setups that accept straight cylindrical shanks at 0.161 inches.
Installation and use of this drill bit should follow standard metalworking practices. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and verify that the drill chuck is properly tightened on the straight cylindrical shank before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steel to extend bit life, noting that this bit does not support through-coolant delivery. Replace the bit if the cutting edge shows signs of heat discoloration or chipping to maintain hole quality and operator safety.
