The WALTER-TITEX 5058736 is a jobber length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose metal drilling in production and maintenance environments. Built from high speed steel with an oxide finish, this 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch decimal) bit features a 118-degree standard point angle and a regular spiral flute configuration. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation on entry. At 2-1/4 inches overall length with a 1-3/16 inch flute length, it handles blind hole and stack drilling applications efficiently. It is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals working on ferrous and cast iron workpieces.
This bit is suited for drilling into cast iron and steel in both blind hole and stack drilling scenarios. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks, and the right-hand spiral flute geometry provides consistent chip clearance at typical hand-drill and drill-press feed rates. Series A1211 follows ANSI and ISO standards as well as BS and DIN specification designations, making it appropriate for shops that operate under documented quality requirements. Its 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports a maximum drilling depth of approximately 1.024 inches.
Designed for use on cast iron and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard drill chucks accepting a 3/32 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Series A1211 general-purpose grade suitable for hand drills, drill presses, and CNC drilling operations requiring a jobber length bit in this diameter range.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the drill chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. For stack drilling, clamp workpieces firmly to prevent movement and burring between layers. Always wear appropriate eye protection and ensure the workpiece is secured before drilling. Replace the bit if point geometry shows visible wear, as a dull tip increases thrust and can cause workpiece damage or bit breakage.
