The WALTER-TITEX 5058622 is a jobber length twist drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. It is manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide finish coating that provides basic lubricity and corrosion resistance during cutting operations. The bit measures 13/32 inch (0.4062 inch decimal) in diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces entry force. Overall length is 5-1/4 inches with a flute length of 3-7/16 inches. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a regular spiral type move chips efficiently during drilling. The straight-cylindrical shank matches the 13/32 inch bit diameter. This is a Series A1211 bit conforming to ANSI, ISO, BS, and DIN standards.
This bit is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications in cast iron and steel workpieces. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned point support accurate entry and consistent chip evacuation in production and maintenance environments. It is used by machinists, maintenance technicians, pipefitters, and HVAC-plumbing tradespeople who need a reliable general-purpose bit for standard ferrous materials. Maximum drilling depth is 2.795 inches (71.00 mm). No coolant-through capability is present, so external cutting fluid should be applied when drilling deeper passages or harder steel alloys.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces in general-purpose applications. Suitable for use in standard drill presses, hand drills, and magnetic base drills accepting a 13/32 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the drill chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Power down and lock out the drill press or drilling machine before changing bits. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid externally when drilling steel to extend tool life, as this bit does not have coolant-through capability. Observe applicable workplace safety codes and manufacturer feed-rate recommendations when stack drilling to prevent bit deflection or breakage.
