The WALTER-TITEX 5058492 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for precision hole-making in ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating, it offers adequate wear resistance for general-purpose drilling in cast iron and steel. The bit measures 1.3 mm in diameter (0.0512 inches) with an overall length of 38.00 mm (approximately 1.5 inches) and a flute length of 16.00 mm (approximately 0.63 inches). The standard 118-degree point angle and web-thinned, tapered web geometry reduce entry force and improve centering. This bit belongs to WALTER-TITEX Series A1211 and conforms to ANSI, ISO, BS, and DIN standards.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications in residential, commercial, and industrial maintenance settings. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron and steel. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks without adapters. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral type support efficient chip evacuation in short to medium depth holes. It is typically used by machinists, maintenance technicians, pipefitters, and HVAC fabricators working with ferrous metal components and sheet assemblies.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in the 0.0500 to 0.1000 inch (0.00 to 2.00 mm) size range. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with drill press or hand-drill operation. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck before use and verify chuck key is removed before powering the tool. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 14.00 mm (0.551 inches) per the tool rating. Eye protection and appropriate workholding fixtures are required per standard shop safety practice.
