The WALTER-TITEX 5058348 is a jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 62, with a decimal diameter of 0.0380 inches. It is manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide coating for surface protection and reduced friction. The bit features a 118-degree standard point angle, a regular spiral flute, and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that aids chip evacuation and reduces thrust force at entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.0380 inches in diameter. Overall length is 1-5/16 inches (33.34 mm), with a flute length of 15/32 inches. This is a two-flute, right-hand cut design rated as a high-performance general-purpose drill bit. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical tradespeople as well as machining professionals are the primary installers.
This bit is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron and steel, consistent with its P and K material codes under ISO classification. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and maximum drilling depth of 0.3940 inches (10.00 mm) make it well matched to close-tolerance small-diameter drilling in production or field service environments where wire gauge sizing is required. Meets ANSI and ISO standards, with specification designations under BS and DIN.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.0380-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces in blind hole and stack drilling setups per the Series A1211 general-purpose classification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with small-diameter drill bit handling. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent bit deflection or breakage at this diameter. Ensure the drill chuck or collet is properly tightened on the straight-cylindrical shank before operation. Follow applicable shop safety standards and manufacturer speed and feed recommendations for the workpiece material.
