The WALTER-TITEX 5058312 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide coating, it carries a wire gauge size of 3, corresponding to a decimal diameter of 0.2130 inches. The 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned, tapered web geometry support accurate entry and efficient chip evacuation. With a right-hand spiral flute and straight-cylindrical shank, this bit is suited for use in standard drill chucks on hand-held or machine-mounted drilling equipment. It meets ANSI, ISO, BS, and DIN standards, confirming dimensional and performance consistency for production and service applications.
This drill bit is built for blind hole and stack drilling applications in cast iron and steel workpieces. The regular spiral flute type and 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it well suited for general-purpose machining in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and HVAC or mechanical trade service work where precise hole sizing in steel is required. It carries a Series A1211 designation and is rated for general-purpose grade performance. The overall length of 3-21/32 inches keeps it manageable in tight spaces while the 2-1/4-inch flute length provides adequate chip clearance at the maximum drilling depth of 1.890 inches.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose jobber drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks used in bench drills, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel (ISO material codes K and P).
Installation is performed by machinists, toolmakers, or trade technicians using a standard keyed or keyless drill chuck rated for the shank diameter. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement. Power down and de-energize any machine tool before changing bits. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated maximum drilling depth of 1.890 inches in a single pass without retracting to clear chips.
