The WALTER-TITEX 5058310 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for precision drilling in cast iron and steel. It carries a wire gauge size of 28, equivalent to 0.1405 inches in decimal, and features a 118-degree standard point angle for reliable entry and centering. The bit is manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide coating that reduces friction and extends service life under moderate cutting conditions. At 2.75 inches overall length with a 1.53125-inch spiral flute, it suits general-purpose hole-making in both production and maintenance environments. Licensed trades including machinists, millwrights, and industrial service technicians are the primary users.
This bit is built for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications in ferrous materials, specifically cast iron and steel. The Series A1211 designation places it within a standardized jobber-length family conforming to ANSI and ISO standards, as well as BS and DIN specification designations. Its regular spiral flute geometry and web-thinned, tapered web configuration support chip evacuation in deeper holes up to a maximum drilling depth of 1.299 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank with an h8 diameter tolerance fits standard three-jaw drill chucks without adapter sleeves.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.1405-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials cast iron and steel per material codes K and P.
Secure the shank fully into a drill chuck and verify runout before starting the cut. Always use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steel to preserve edge life, even though this bit does not support through-coolant. Wear eye protection and clamp workpieces securely before drilling. Inspect the cutting edges for wear between holes when stack drilling, as stacked stock accelerates edge degradation.
