The WALTER-TITEX 5058295 is a jobber length twist drill bit designed for precision drilling in ferrous metals including cast iron and steel. Ground from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide finish, this bit carries a No. 14 wire gauge designation and a decimal diameter of 0.182 inches. The standard 118-degree split point geometry and 2-flute spiral configuration provide consistent chip evacuation and reliable hole entry without a pilot. Overall length is 3-5/32 inches with a 1-27/32 inch flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and is sized at 0.182 inches. Diameter tolerance is held to h8, making it suitable for close-tolerance blind hole and stack drilling applications.
This bit is used in general-purpose metalworking operations including blind hole drilling and stack drilling in cast iron and steel workpieces. The Series A1211 designation places it in the WALTER-TITEX high-performance jobber line, built to ANSI and ISO standards with BS and DIN specification designations. It is suited to production and maintenance environments where consistent repeatability across multiple setups is required. Licensed tradespeople and tool-and-die professionals working in fabrication, maintenance, or general machining will find this bit appropriate for everyday ferrous metal drilling tasks.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber drill bit for use in standard 3-jaw drill chucks and drill press spindles accepting a 0.182-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel per material codes K and P.
Installation of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the drill chuck and verify runout before drilling. Always de-energize and lock out the drilling machine before changing bits. Cutting fluid is not required but may extend tool life when drilling deep or interrupted cuts in steel.
