The WALTER 7539563 is a solid carbide milling insert in the BCMT series, grade WKP35G, designed for high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. It carries a CVD-applied dual coating of TiAlN and TiN for thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous materials. The insert is parallelogram-shaped with a positive rake angle of 20 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle, promoting free-cutting action and reduced cutting forces. At 3.21 mm thick and 6.30 mm wide, with a corner radius of 0.80 mm, this single-sided insert provides two cutting edges per unit and is held in place by a screw-type clamping method.
This insert is intended for milling steel and cast iron in both light and moderate-duty applications, corresponding to ISO material codes P and K. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers operating under conditions that demand consistent chip control, provided by the G55 chip breaker geometry. The insert is designed for right-hand cutting and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 10.30 mm. It is compatible with the Cutter Series M5130 and follows ANSI and ISO standards under the designation BCMT090308R-G55 WKP35G. Machinists and CNC tooling technicians working on steel and cast iron components will find this insert applicable across roughing-to-semi-finishing operations.
Compatible with the Walter Cutter Series M5130. ANSI and ISO insert designation is BCMT090308R-G55 WKP35G. Designed for right-hand toolholders accepting BCMT-series inserts with screw clamping.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC tooling technician or machinist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all power is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating practice without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
