The WALTER 6955695 is a solid carbide turning insert with a TiAlN PVD coating, designed for high-precision metal cutting in turning, facing, and boring operations. It features a CCGT insert style with an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, and a sharp cutting edge geometry. The MN2 chipbreaker and positive rake angle of 25 degrees promote efficient chip control and reduced cutting forces. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC turning specialists working with non-ferrous metals as the primary workpiece material, with secondary capability on steel and stainless steel applications.
The 6955695 fits CCGT-style insert pockets and is suited for light to medium-depth turning passes up to 0.381 inches depth of cut. It is applicable in both production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. The screw-held mounting method provides secure clamping in standard CCGT toolholders. Compatible with non-ferrous metals (ISO N), steel (ISO P), and stainless steel (ISO M) workpiece materials. Material grades N10, P01, and M01 indicate the recommended application range per ISO classification.
Designed for use in CCGT-style screw-clamp toolholders. ISO equivalent part number is CCGT09T301-MN2 WNN10. Industry standard designation is CCGT3(2.5)0.2-MN2 WNN10. Suitable for ISO material groups N (non-ferrous), P (steel), and M (stainless steel) per material grades N10, P01, and M01.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC operators in CCGT-compatible screw-lock toolholders. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw to avoid insert rock or chatter. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris prior to installation.
