The WALTER 6650918 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT432-RK4 WKK10S series, engineered for precision metal cutting in industrial machining environments. This insert carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiCN for high wear resistance and thermal stability. The diamond 80-degree insert shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry with a positive rake angle of 12 degrees and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. With an inscribed circle of 0.5 inches and a corner radius of 0.0315 inches, it is built for consistent, controlled material removal. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the typical end users for this insert.
This insert is rated for turning, facing, and boring operations. Its primary workpiece material classification is cast iron (ISO material code K), with a secondary rating for hard materials (ISO material code H). The WKK10S proprietary coating designation and material grade H30/K10 make this insert well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on cast iron components. It is held in place by a screw-type clamping method and is designed for use in compatible CCMT-style toolholders. Maximum depth of cut is 0.200 inches (5.00 mm). This is a neutral-hand insert suitable for both right- and left-hand setups depending on the toolholder configuration.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-clamped toolholders. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring applications on cast iron and hard materials. ISO equivalent designation is CCMT120408-RK4 WKK10S. Verify toolholder pocket specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench for the clamping screw to avoid cracking the carbide insert body or stripping the screw seat. Inspect the toolholder pocket for debris or wear before seating the new insert.
